EAZIX: The final test on network
Finally! I've reached 100Mbps.Actually, i haven't, but from the experiences of most people who's done
testing, and based on some lessons on Cisco, the result i had (11MB/s ~
88Mbps) is enough to say that it can transmit at 100Mbps, since the average
(actual) transfer rate with that connection is 20-60Mbps.
Also, after transferring several files (18MB, 237MB, 620MB, & 1.7GB) without
any errors (based on the output from ifconfig), it can be concluded that
the connection is reliable enough for the embedded device.
Now (or rather, tomorrow), i just have to show credible sources that would
prove that it is a valid claim to say that the connection is effectively
100Mbps and is reliable enough for the device.
here's the entry in the log for the office:
Activity: Tested various files again using FTP and NFS. The tests on FTP
transfer showed that it is reliably fast. That is, it showed transfers up
to 11MB/s.
Tried to find sources that’ll show that the test results are reliable.
Status: ahead of schedule
To do: Documentation of results. Find studies on average speeds of network
transfer.
